Foods are the basic things needed in our life. There are variety of foods can be found around the world. Malaysia is well-known as food heaven. In Malaysia, basically there are many types of foods that being the identity of races or state. For instance, for Malay race, they commonly known with Nasi LemakAsam Pedas and Laksa. Meanwhile, Chinese are more likely link to the foods such as Dim Sum, Dumpling, and Egg Fried Rice and for Indian, their famous foods are Chicken Tandoori, Vegetable Samosa and Mutton Masala. Therefore, there are different types of restaurants or food stall everywhere.

Bisik-Bisik Restaurant and Cafe is among the best Malay Traditional & Western Food café. Located at Parit Raja, Batu Pahat Johor, in a rather unassuming converted shop houses that’s quite easy not to be missed. It is near to the busy main road. However, the exterior will remind visitors of full of neon light. The decor allows the simplistic beauty of the food to really shine, though the food is not well presented at the beginning. The cafe buzzed with excited energy and was comfortably full with seemingly satisfied patrons.

The seats inside the cafe were much better than those outdoors, but dustings of crumbs and smears of ketchup stains are at least a little less appalling than animal excrement. Overall, the cafe is both clean and tidy despite having limited space and more customers than can fit inside at one time. As the comfortable place and delicious foods restaurant, the friendly staffs also complete the good services of this restaurant. As you step into the restaurant, the waiter or waitress will come to you and give you books of menu with smiling in their face. They will also assist you to choose the menu by giving information about the promotion or the most likely dishes chosen by their previous customers. In their menu books, there are variety of foods and drinks you can choose. They also will not make you to wait for so long to serve the foods and drinks. As you finish choosing the foods and drinks, they will prepare it as soon as they can.

When we talked about foods served in this restaurant, there are variety types of foods offers here. The famous malay menu is this restaurant is mee bandung, which is essentially a bowl of parboiled yellow noodles, a mixed of prawn and meat gravy (which they make themselves), and all of condiments such as bean sprout, shredded chicken breast, sliced soft tofu, top up with fried egg.

Apart from the Malay Traditional menu, Western Food menu also available at this restaurant. One of famous western menu is Bisik-Bisik lamb chop, served with choices of sauce (mint sauce or black pepper sauce), jacket potato and broccoli. The lamb was well cooked, so tender and juicy, the mint sauce balanced the richness of the meat very well. Besides that, they also have grilled black pepper chicken, which consisted of grilled chicken breast, croquette potato, and greens such as sautéed cauliflower and carrot. Then served with mushrooms sauce. The dish was executed perfectly, which each of the bright colors of the ingredients.

There are few desserts in this restaurant, one of an original Bisik-Bisik creation called Si Gebu Hitam: a pandan and dark chocolate lava cake made even richer with the addition of coconut milk. Pandan is a type of leaf used to flavour many sweets, and it has a flavour that will be unfamiliar to most of the patrons. It’s a little grassy and a little nutty, with hints of vanilla. Paired with bittersweet dark chocolate and rich coconut milk, the cake is simply divine.

This cafe can run another couple of years as the location is not too suitable as it is too near to the main road. As the owner aware, they will be relocated to another place but not too far from it original place. The owner also mentioned that after they got their new place, there will be a vast transition from their original menu. Hopefully, the menu will upgrade great with variety and quality food at affordable prices. So food hunters stay tune!!
